Daily crazy

My days have been crazy. Working 15 hour days, cooking dinner, making waffle, cleaning house, dropping kids off, picking kids up and to think through this all I have been in pain. Daily crazy life as a mother.

I don't know what's been going on with my teenage boys but they have been moody. When you have young men 6'3", still growing and arguing with each other. Can get a little CRAZY! When they were younger I would let them roll around fighting and walk right over them. They always ended up laughing on the floor. Now there yelling, door slamming, some times one of them leaves the house in a fiery for a walk and once in a while a cuse word is dropped. HELP!

My oldest son who is graduating this year has been emotional. I think the pressure of needing to know what he wants to do with his life is getting to him. I wish my words help but they don't. They never want to listen to mom.

Lord give me the strength to get my kids through every hurdle they will face.

Girls night

Hope everyone had a fun filled weekend like I did. I worked on Saturday. What fun that was, NOT!

Saturday night two of my girlfriends and I went out. Both have been having some emotional times and just need to get out of the house for some girl time. we went to a local lounge "Cool Kat" they had a band it was pretty good and I'm sure the crowd was around are age but we felt like the youngins since everyone else seemed to be coupled up. From there we headed to another low key place "laha2" the name should say it all. I mean we were not out to get crazy, we just wanted a place with good music where we could talk and drink a few. Well a few became SEVEN.
Yes that's TEQUILA! It turned into a good night there wasn't anyone out because the Mayweather fight was on. It was perfect. We played the jukebox, talked and drank. It just what the doctor called for.

A nights not complete without a               bathroom shot.

No judgement please... But the next morning I woke up not home.. Hahaha all I remember is Alicia and I were on the phone talking to my best friend matthew and then I woke up the next morning with my face down into her couch. I Took my walk of shame with no shoes and went home. I was nauseated and felt like I was dying all day. So worth it because Mary was all smiles the next day, just what the doctor ordered.

I have watched my friend crumble, stay in bed and cry daily. So if I had to get alittle intoxicated for her to start the steps to be herself again then by god that exactly what I'll do and DID!!

Thursday Already

Where have I been all week...

made this for me and my son on Tuesday
grill zucchini, red bell pepper, yellow squash, mushrooms,
onion, and green beans with melted Monterey Jack
My son (middle - 15yrs) he helped me in the kitchen this is the conversations.

Me: "Bubba wash all these vegetables so I can chop"

Bubba: "My hands are dirty."

Me with a puzzled look: "Ok, but I need you wash the veggies, so wash your hands too"

Bubba: "But mom my hands are dirty and I don't want to touch them with my dirty hands."

Me: "CHRISTIAN! your going to washing the vegetables with water so wash your hands before."

Bubba: "Oh yea. duh!"
(REALLY!!)

Has he washes the veggies and I start chopping, he starts looking around for something

Bubba: "What kind of meat are you going to put in them?"

Me: "There is no meat."

Bubba: "Wait, WHAT? No meat? I can't eat that with no meat, mom."

Me: "Well, I'm not putting meat in these "VEGGIE GRILLED SANDWHICHS"
and YES your are going to eat it."

Has his mouth was stuffed with food he tells me that it was  perfect balance of flavors.

SO far so good with 100 days of Real Food.

This was where all the vending machines at work were.
GROSS!!!
I'm hoping they put in some couches even though I know they won't
we have some adults that don't act like adults.

This is what we got to replace the vending machines.
You have this card you put money on or you can use your atm.
It has way better selections. Not that I will be eating from it
but I will be purchasing the 100% Juice when I want
something different from WATER!

(sorry the picture is blurry was taken from someone cell phone)

Spying on my mom
I track my mom, does anyone else do this?
Is it just me? This is normal behavior from a daughter, RIGHT?
As my mom would say "You learned from the best".
Well if you all had a mother like mine you would be tracking her too.
I mean seriously how many of you have a mother that has a line of very
established men trying to date her just because they got a whiff
that she might be single. Who's mother stays out until midnight going to
dinner and then dancing four nights a week. SERIOUSLY your a grandmother!
hahahhhaha I love my mom and she deserves to have fun but.....
She is currently in a place where a lot of decisions need to be made
but instead of making a choice she is having the time of her life.
The ship has sailed for her and my stepdad in my eyes,
but 14 years together is not something you just walk away
from unless you did everything  possible to make it work.
Both of them are to blam for the situation they are in
and neither of them will budge.

**I was not hiding out in the bushes, shrubs or anything.
One of my friends seen my mom was at a local restaurant,
so to paly this game of spying on each other. I had my friend
take a picture and sent it to my mom.
Mother daughter bonding in a creepy stocker way.

Today I will be using this and getting me my lap desk that I refuse to spend $30.00 on.

Take care everyone!

Wheat!

As some of you know we have been battling stomach issue with my daughter.
Which I would call episodes where the poor thing would wake up in the middle of the night and vomit for hours. To the point of exhaustion. We went through all the necessary thing like keeping a good journal, seeing her pediatrician, referred to a GI and an endrogonologist. With nothing other then some puberty concerns and an inflamed stomach. I was one frustrated mama. Since all this has been going on for more then 2 years and hospital visit after hospital visit this mama is taking things into her own hands. I started her on a probiotic, a lactaide pill  and daily vitamin.  After a no rule bedtime sumer we are back on track and going to be in complete darkness no lights, TV or music. This one has been tough but so far just a few preteen feet stomping and slamming doors.  we have notice the probitic has help but the major change was what she was eating. I cut salads down to once or twice a week, limited the dairy consumption and no soda (unless special occasion). We do not eat school lunch I pack her a balanced meal daily. I even changed the products I buy for her lunch. No fruit roll ups no rice crispy treats, no brownies the list can go on. It may seem like in torturing her. She hasn't seem to notice. We bake alot more now all from scratch. This has helped. We also started to go organic when we can and 100% whole wheat.

I thought for sure the men in the household would fight me the entire time. So far they are all in. Last night on my day off we baked three different things for our busy week. The teenagers commented "if 100% whole wheat organic is going to taste this good then I'll be ok, but I will still need my soda once in awhile" I was shocked. To be honest I don't purchase soda unless we are having company or my dad is home for the weekend. We are water, tea and juice drinkers (100% fruit juicy).

Some things we Cooke..

No hope in sight

So, I haven't been feeling good for almost two months now. My white blood count is high and something else is low. My doctor thinks I'm fighting some sort of virus and my GI took biopsy from my endoscopy last week. Waiting for the results and seeing if we need to do more test. I have started on a probiotic and eliminating processed food. this is a hard one because majority of food is processed. I live in a small town we don't have a health food store, but I'm trying my best. Anything I eat comes right back out this is not a pretty sight or easy considering I work 10 hour days. I came home early yesterday and stayed home today from work because of this issue my body is having and the fact that for the last three days I have had a lingering headache. I took a three hour nap and ate a really good lunch/dinner. Feeling alittle better.

lunch/dinner: Chopped some chicken thighs, green squash & yellow squash, green beans and red onions sautéed in a little olive oil. SO GOOD!!! I good eat this every day.

I follow 100 days of real food. She is amazing I started to print out her recipes to try them out. I haven't tried anything yet but making a shopping list and picking what I can find her and what I can't. If anyone wants more info on getting back to non processed food and get help and support I HIGHLY recommend her.

Today was a great day not only for me since I got to rest but little miss C aka Banana got her instrument for the school band. At the beginning of each year I encourage my kids to join clubs and groups. This year they went full force and I don't even know how I'm going to get them all to where they need to be or if they will even have time to sleep.  I will figure it out and do it just like all moms do. Back to Little Miss C she came hope at the beginning of the week and said that she is going to join band. We started talking about how I myself was in band MANY years ago. One Wednesday she jumped into the car and said I'm going to play the saxophone and she proceed to go on how she seen a band at school play. She also said she wants to be like Lisa Simpson... HAHAHAHA! We went over how it takes dedication and hard work but if you but the time in then you will be a good saxophone player.  So yesterday her father took her to the music store to get a quote on what this is going to cost. Once he found out the whopping price to start up and lease this brass instrument he tried to get her to pick something else. I really feel bad for the store clerk since he tried explaining to Little Miss C that the suite case she will be caring will be very heavy. He also showed her all the other great instruments she can choose from but every time she turned them both down and stuck to her guns. So today we got her the saxophone, bamboo reeds, instruction book and stand. $130.00 later Little Miss C is a proud leaser of a shine brass saxophone. She is beyond ecstatic and wishes she can put everything together but we told her she has to wait until she meets with band since they will go over everything.

Thursday 5th
Today Topic is Recipe
I have to say I have been collecting recipes for years and have a TON. I used to cook a lot when I was a stay at home mom. Now with my working schedule and being spoiled by J doing most of the cooking I'm sad to say I cook once in awhile. I'm hopping to start cooking more with me trying to change our eating habit's. when I think of one recipes that would be our family perogie recipe that has been passed down through generation after generations. I finally at 35 years of age can make them and they taste similar to my grandmothers. just similar not exactly but close enough. We make them majority of the time for special events or when we can get an assembly line going. I think the most memorable time was this past July when we went on our family vacation and we made them at the lake house. I have seen ventured on from the family tradition cheddar potato and salt pork.. I have started to try different variations but will always go back to cheddar potatoes and salted pork.

Right before the go into boil

Catch up #SBBC

I’m totally behind on my #SBBC so here is my catch up

September 1 – Why am I doing #SSBC? Well, to be honest I’m challenging myself from being lazy. I really only blog when I don’t have housework or anything else to do. I haven’t felt good about that so I went on a search for blog challenges. When I found this challenge I was impressed by the two different options Beauty or Lifestyle. I’m hoping to achieve good blogging habits and more creative writing about myself.

September 2 – My favorite jewelry currently. Purchased these while on our family vacation in McCall, ID.

September 3 – What do I bring when traveling?

I bring all the essentials: iphone, ipad, journal, my camera and my Maglight. This sounds funny I know but I take him any time I’m not sleeping at home but only if I’m driving to my destination, not flying. I don’t think they would let me take it on the plan. I wonder if I should try, not I don't want them to confiscate him.

September 4 – Pacifica! So far there is not one fragrance I don’t like. My favorite one from them currently is Tuscan Blood Orange.

Our Annual Parents Weekend

Every year my friends and I take a trip to Sacramento with my parents and their friends.  It first started out as a lets go hang with the parents for the weekend and now has turn into this challenge The Young-ins vs. The Parents. We start at the same place ever year and bar  hop in old Sac. The goal is to out last, out drink, and have the most fun. We have yet to conquer The Parents. I think its because they have years on us but they say we have no skills and don't know what we are doing. We end up finding at least one new bar/lounge some were in old sac. This year we found The Back Door an old school bar with a bartender older then my parents with no patience, but damn that woman can make a mean Long Island. This year we failed miserably ended our night early and got sick. Till next year when we will try again and probably fail miserably but its always fun trying.

the Skydiver's above the freeway.. YES!! I thought they were going to land on the freeway and so did everyone else. Break slamming and me trying to take this picture.

If we start the conversation with the word VAULT then it's known what we are about to say is something personal, serious, heartbreaking and sometime juicy info. For two years now we have had the great idea to get a tattoo while in a not so clear mind and for two year we have yet to get one. This year it was one word "VAULT" and yet again we did not get it. We did actually go to a place and ask but they wouldn't do it for us since we wanted it on our pinkies. The tattoo place blamed Pinterest for making tattoo on the hands popular. HAHAHA!!

Elivra and Me
She join us for the first time this year she need a get away weekend.
