Recently my soul sister has gone through a major loss in her life, one that has left her with wonder, questions and the feeling of her love just wasn't enough. You see she was taken in by these two wonderful souls late in life, and many times she would see her own grandmother in this woman. She always thought this woman was brought into her life from her heavenly grandmother since it was soon after she had passed that she found these two Jerry and Jeananne. After 20 year of love and friendship dear Jerry passed away this passed December. She new she would not have Jeananne for long after Jerry, but hopped that she would see there was still joy and life within her. We had so many of our own adventures planned, which included her. Jeananne died a few days ago from a broke heart. Unfortunately my soul sister found her, she was sitting in her recliner wearing her favorite purple sweat set looking like she was taking the best nap ever.  

My art journal this week is of pain, sadness and being lost. 

They say grief is an ugly thing and someone does not truly get to the tail end of it until 7 years in, so I will be creating a list of places to see for my soul sister who plans on spreading the ashes of Jeananne with wildflowers.  OPEN TO SUGGESTIONS!

Used: Gesso, black alcohol marker, gold metallic pen, white Bombay liquid ink, yellow acrylic paint.

Art Journal - On The Calendar

 

I took last year calendar, planner stamps, some stickers and a tiny bit of washi. I could have used so much more washi why do I always feel like I have to save it for something. There wasn't that much art as in paint with this page but I do liked it. there's a bit depth to it in the layering.

My desktop background for the month of January 2024, I used all items from Digitalscrapbook.com and created using Adobe PhotoShop.

I used in Try Stamping On Tuesday challenge.

For both the cards I used the same orange paper and same Stamp it Up stamp set called "Falling for Leaves" No longer available but can still find on Ebay or Etsy.

Tag Tuesday

 Tag Tuesday theme is ANIMALS. I finally got to pull out my animal stamps that intimate me so much. I two tags. Enjoy!

Plain tag alcohol markers amazon unknown brand, Stamp it up set "Animal Outing" which is no longer available.. 

 

ATC - Under Water Cactus Lace

 

Started with a ATC background water color, picked a lace that I had a lot of from a project over 5 years ago. I knew I wanted to use it like a current, covering up just a little of the the picture. Was looking for something that resembled lace and came across these Cactus magazine page with nothing but different Cactus the edges a home int he dessert somewhere. New that some of them looked like coral which took me to under water theme.  Layered them to resemble a coral reef in hopes it would provide depth to the ATC. I don't think I accomplished what I wanted but I do love it. Added dimensional magic magie from ModPodge brand. Added some sequins and since I could not find any fish tiny enough to go onto this ATC.. Sparkly Octopus it is.
